Diagnostic

On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) II is the second generation of on-board self-diagnostic equipment requirements for vehicles. It was first implemented in the United States in 1996 and is now a standard feature in most cars and light trucks. OBDII systems monitor a vehicle's performance and emissions, alerting the driver to any faults or problems that may arise. OBDII systems are also used to diagnose engine problems and can be used to adjust engine settings to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. OBDII scanners are available which allow users to connect to the OBDII system and read diagnostic trouble codes, monitor engine performance, and even reset the system after repairs have been made.
